hey guys new member here! Hoping you guys can help me out a bit! I recently picked up a 96 taco with a 6 inch db lift on it. Upon checking her out fully (after I bought it ‍♂️) I noticed that there was no uca and that there was a custom fabbed shock put in there that was u-bolted to the spindle. So I went and picked up some light racing UCAs only to get 99% through the install before realizing that the ball joint wasn’t going to reach the spindle. It makes it almost all the way through the spindle but obviously not enough to get the bolt on and the cotter pin in. I’m lost at this point and it seems those spindle pacers would work in my situation but after days of searching the web I’ve come up dry on finding them. ANY info here is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the dreaded trailmaster lift kit. Not much you can do aside from retaining the original kit and not swapping in other UCA's. Balljoint/spindle spacers are most definetly not a good idea.

I origianlly wanted to just replace what was there but everything looked so thrown together and fabbed I thought it was something they did through together. I do my research to and couldn’t even find a pic on google that looked remotely close to what I had. I’ll look that trail master up now and see what I can find. Also everything i read said those spacers were sketchy lol but I’m running out of options haha thanks for the response!

Yeah there's a reason that kit was discontinued a long time ago. Might take some work to get it back to where a normal lift kit can be installed
