    I love learning new stuff man. There's a few people on here that have tons of info or knowledge that some might say is useless but I'm enamored by it. I think it's just the cool new stuff you learn:D

    Mmm, job applications and cover letters. I could tell you all the ways you could chase down a misfire, rebuild a manual transmission, or replace your engine management. I'd be happy to write all that down for someone that will listen and learn. But writing cover letters, which in nature have to be about yourself and your experience (how it relates to the job posting) is tough. Talking about myself in that manner just feels unnatural and knowing the person in charge of hiring may not even read it makes it hard to commit.

    Was and is my least favorite part about applying for jobs. Not nearly as straightforward as a resume and depending on the jobs being applied to, it's almost like you have write a new one each time.

    Agreed. Stupid traditional thing that needs to go away. The employer needs to like you or not based on what he sees in the resume and thats it.

    I agree but I think a lot of places ask for them to try and filter out the people that aren't as serious about that job in particular. Sort of like how every now and then, I'll send out resumes to job listings I'm interested in, even though I'm pretty secure at this one for now. But if it asks for a cover letter too then I won't do it, unless it was something I was genuinely interested in pursuing.

    Back when I was actively looking for a new job I came up with a decent cover letter template that worked well, but that was 4 years ago.

    @Sperrunner @Speedytech7

    I've left the AC under vacuum since last night, it was at about 24psi yesterday and is down to 19~ now. Is that acceptable loss over a long period that can be attributed to the temp change/gauge fittings leaking? or am i phucked

    Our current house is modestly small so I don't see that being a problem

    It should hold the vacuum, what was the temperature differential

    Girls have a body clock urging them to have kids, guys have 'dad humor' that kicks in around 30 and since no one but kids finds it funny, you start to want one

    You charged with gas?

    It shouldn’t be any drop. Though if the temperature got hotter the pressure will get higher.

    If you have soapy water you can try putting it on fittings and crips to see the f any bubbles happen

    no gas, had it under vacuum for an hour then turned off the low side valve on the manifold gauge (central valve open, high valve closed). Maybe I phucked up

    Should I have turned off the high/central valve and leave the low side valve open?

    Either way you close al the valves. It will still read system pressure. It just closes the sides off from the vacuum hole or recharge hole

    Pressure observation should be done with a charge like Nitrogen, where you can accurately calculate the amount of expansion and pressure rise. Vacuum is tougher cause it doesn't really expand but the members that contain the vacuum do and that affects the vacuum measurement. Calculating that is above my pay grade haha. My advice is do the vac test for 2 hrs where the temps aren't changing. That should be good enough unless you want to the Nitrogen test which will tell you everything including where the possible leaks are.
