    This place kills me....

    My bungies don’t fit in my tie downs. I think the Toyota tie downs suck. Best truck with tie downs I ever had was my frontier. Tons of points because they have floor rails and the construction of the cleat is a lot beefier.

    OP does a simple mod to improve the use-ability of the system and he gets hate from people.

    You could look at it as hate or as I prefer, look at it as thought provoking. I also tie motorcycles down in my bed and thanks to above poster, will not be using the rails or plastic cleats as a main tie-off. Cleat strength looks good! :D

    Hell, it may even save me an eye!

    I use the yellow reflective line on the rear of my kayaks . With so many tourists here , and texting while driving I do, do my best to keep them from smashing their windshields and poking out an eye with my kayaks. Maybe I am wasting my time. If the road is posted 55 they still go 37 to 45 mph ANYWAY .

    Knots and paracord is infinitely useful. I almost always buy a bundle when I'm out and an outdoor store.

    I am fussy about tired on boats. Each kayak gets 2 ratchet straps looped one full turn around each kayak each. Then a share bow line and another shared stern line. The lines are snuggled with truckers hitches and a taut line hitch to finish.
