Meet Ernesto the drill bit. Ernesto helped me install hangers on my Tacoma over 2 years ago, and has been used nearly every week in the shop since, yes 2 hole (punny) years.
For $12, less than a Dewalt throw away bit, you get a 1/4" and 1/2" bit added to your kit. I offer these to save you aggravation, time, a trip to store and money.
I recently drilled holes out in a stainless header flange for a friend and 4 new holes in my Tundra frame, and Ernesto is finally tired.

I saw another thread where people were making outrageous claims about needing many drill bits for installing hangers

@ARCHIVE What do you recommend for a (Gen 2) Tacoma currently running Fox 2.0 Performance Series Reservoir 2-3" - 985-24-117 (Extended 23.80 in. Collapsed 14.70 in.; Stroke 9.10 in). I have Dakkar Medium Load (0lbs to GVW) Spring rate: 149 / 482, 2.75" lift - EL095R currently installed but I am moving to Deaver Expedition Series (Stage III) spring next week. Also mounting up a rear high-clearance bumper with dual swingout, bed rack and RTT.

Ever get it sharpened? Fastenal will sharpen bits for cheap, and holy fuck, does a sharp bit make a difference.

if it's used, they lose their temper and won't hold an edge and you'll be sharpening often. I've spent way too much time sharpening shot bits when a new one is cheaper.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ All I know is at the shop, fastenal sharpens the bits every so often and they work amazing.

Never sharpened it, and didn't use oil for drilling

That is impressive. Any particular reason why you didn't use oil? Regardless of the bit I've used, oil made a significant difference.

Base hanger kit would be fine. Those shocks are pretty short for 3" lift you'll be getting from U402 stage 3.

As far as what? Shock length? Brand? Sounds like an archive relocate and 14” shock would do well with the deavers

Exactly... Does Fox make the right shock for my application (I'm weird about matching things). I didn't even realize Archive made the shock relocation mounts as well. I only came here for the HD spring mounts.

Yep, they sure do. Running an aftermarket shock mount allows you to run universal shocks, where you have an eye top and bottom. If you go to downsouthmotorsports or accutune, you can select Fox, and sort from there. You can go 2.0 or 2.5 diameter (that’s common anyways), select stroke (12” or 14”) and if you want smooth or bypasses. It sounds like you’d be fine with smooth body, aka smoothies

What weight oil? Synthetic or Dino? Did you flush the oil and replace it after a BIT of break-in period?

You can get nice longer shocks for stock location such as AccuTune has 2gen Tundra 2.5 shocks (definitely still limiting factor by 2"). However, if you don't mind or are already running spacers on the rear axle, doing the shock relocation can be a wise investment. I recommend 2.5x12" as it is just easier to fit vs the 14", and matches SOA springs. It might even cost nearly the same including the towers. I have listed some AccuTune shock offerings in my description here: https://archivegarage.com/products?olsPage=products/taco-shock-relocation

I'm going to be trying Fox 2.0x12 universal on my 1st gen Tundra very soon.
