    You sure it's the seat?

Could be that the seat rail isn't locked into place on the front to back sliding track. Sometimes my seat doesn't click into place fully and it moves a little bit/rattles.

Yes .... I also found mine rattles when it’s not fully locked into position. I usually just push it all the way back as far as it’ll go and make sure it’s fully latched. Also the headrest will also rattle if not properly engaged/locked in one of the detents

I’m having the passenger seat rail replaced on my 2018. Only 8k miles. Rattled no matter what position. Some positions worse than others. Part is on order, but 3rd party upholstery company needs to be hired by the dealership. For being the largest Toyota dealership in the nation, I found the wait and inability to do in house ridiculous.

Rattle drives me crazy. Now I’m going to have to waste another day to get it fixed. Big fail for a pretty much brand new truck! Waiting for a call back to make another appointment to complete the repair under warranty.

Lately I’ve noticed a rattling noise coming from the passenger side. I thought it was coming from the dash area, but after reading this I’ll check out the passenger seat.

When it’s rattling a lot steady the passenger seat with one arm. See if that lessens it. Or have someone sit in back and steady it during rattles to see if it’s the culprit. I thought it was glove box, or door panel, something else. Nope.
It was the seat. And I usually ride solo. When I have a passenger it doesn’t rattle

My passenger seat rattles when the head rest is extended and no one is in the seat. Putting the head rest down helps.

Sure it is not the passenger seat belt latch hitting against the "B" pillar? There is a bump pad on the B pillar but when I drive over tracks or a washboard road, the latch makes a pretty good rattle sound. Thought it was the passenger seat the first few times it happened.

I had that issue when it was new, turned out to be the track. I just hit the top of the seat to simulate road bumps and traced it to the track, grease it and that it did it for me.

I have a rattle that happens when my wife gets out of the truck. Sometimes the seat belt doesn't retract straight and knocks against the plastic trim.

My front passenger seat rattles if there’s no one sitting in it. The base of the seat is tight and it seems to be the back part that’s making noise. If i’m driving a long distance alone, I jam a towel or gloves between the center console and the back part of the seat. Pain in the ass just like the FR speaker rattle....

Mine rattles in the morning until it’s warm. Not sure where it’s coming from but if I stick a couple of fingers between the seat and center console it goes away. Can’t tell if it’s the seat or the head rest.

Dealer explained it as “normal” that I had to stick a couple of fingers in there since the other trucks on the lot were the same way. Classic dealer response for a 40k truck. Fingering the truck in the cold is just what I have to do I guess, I’ll remember that when it’s time for another.

Did anyone find a fix for this I have the same problem. I have a rattling noise only when I don't have a passenger riding with me. Also it seems to only do it when I accelerate...

I have a rattle issue on the front passenger side of my truck for the last year. Turns out some 3rd gen tacos came with a distorted speaker cover. First time the dealership just shoved some sponge-foam to absorb the rattle. It helped until the speaker cover started to pop up. Second time they replaced it and works better but still gets a little rattle from time to time depending on the road and the speed I drive. Dealership said it was a flaw in the built for some trucks...:jerkoff:
