Ya'll only want to talk about Champion for some reason... It seems like the Liland all-aluminum offered by Rock might have fitment issues. Decided to go with Denso 221-3138. Looks like it should be a 100% drop-in replacement for the Harrison 52469689 that came as OE on my trugg.

Well champion radiators look cool so naturally I want one, I suspect other people are similar. They LOOK like they would be great, but there are so many failure stories. No matter how cool they look, if they are known to decrease reliability I'm just not interested.

Man I just looked at my sons radiator, it's the same model you referenced! It's got a 2002 date in it too. It sounds like there's no way a Champion would last 17 years from the stories I've read.

The original poster specifically asked about the Liland aluminum rad, not Champion. I was also curious about the Liland, but the topic got steered back to Champion. Funny, huh?

Moral of the story I think - you're not going to get a high quality aluminum radiator for $200 - I'll see how my champion does, but $100 for a backup ain't too bad.

I agree, I don’t think you can buy a high quality aluminum 3 core radiator for 200.00
You get what you pay for

The denso mentioned a few posts back should be a good radiator right? Nothing fancy to look at but should be similar to the original? I'm thinking about just pulling the trigger on one of those. It has a reputation for fitting correctly and the denso website lists it as the correct radiator for my application. Plus it's $100

    OME and worth every penny.
A 160 thermostat would do it also.

Read the reviews and you decide,
Apparently the shipping migh be a problem as they tend to arrive damaged and made in China.
But for 100.00 you can’t expect more

There's no real info, or even dimensions

Did you happen to read post #2?

There's no real info on the radiator... that's why the conversation turned to Champion... because it's the only viable, marketed, aluminum, option for our trucks.

The original radiator mentioned in first post has nearly no info, no dimensions, and the listed part number doesn't even come up in a search made on the manufacture's webpage... and from the pictures... it looks like hammered dog shit.

Ebay had some Chinese alum. rads. for Kawasaki's that sold for about 100 bux, I didn't want to pony up 600 for a custom. Shame on me. Must have been made from old Coors cans. Nothing but crack after crack. Welding shop said it was shit alum. not from stress.

Japanese plastic (I think, Kawasaki) was better.

NOW.....the custom....from a guy named Tealdo, was the tits.

Nah, I ran my Sienna w/o a thermostat a couple weeks ago and it wouldn't warm up...bottom hose stayed cool. Surprised me. That was an hour of idleing at 95 degrees.

edit: Doing the 'Blue Devil" type stuff on a cracked head from an overheat.

I rolled the dice. I'll inspect it as thoroughly as I can before installing and keep my fingers crossed. 59% 5 star reviews. Just a gut feeling my odds are better than going with a cheap aluminum radiator.

The thermostat (brand new one, too!) was sticking, so that seems to be the cause of the issue with my Champion radiator overheating!

Thank You greatly for the advice!
