Just pulled my skids and found a mess of oil mixed with dirt, traced it up to a lower oil pan just covered in oil.

So I degreased and power washed everything so I could try and narrow it down. After idling for a few minutes it looks like a drop is forming on the bellhousing inspection cover. So guess I'll have the dealership look into it.

Oh, best part? Just turned 61,000 miles so no warranty. Kinda getting deja vu of my steering angle sensor dying at 37,000 and having to pay $1,200

Probably the rear main from the photo...it’s time to trade it in!

I'd love the new forest green Pro, but I've got so much damn time in the mods on this thing LOL.

Bummer that so many people are having oil leaks with the 3rd gens. Maybe at 150k but shouldn’t be happening at 60k

A plugged PCV can cause a blown main seal (as well as other seals). You might want to check that as well.

Ah, you're having as much fun as I am right now. My tacoma also managed to pass 61,000 and getting back from inspection yesterday, there is a crack in the upper oil pan. Changing it out is going to cost me about 3700 dollars. At the moment, everyone's still trying to figure out who to blame as the dealer sold it to me in this condition. :frusty:

    See
See of Toyota can compensate at least some of the money to fix it since your only 1,000 miles outside warranty.

It's a little more complex. The truck was bought second hand from a Hyundai dealership who also threw in a 3 year comprehensive warranty. Great. That warranty is technically for Hyundai cars. Not so great. However, the work could potentially be covered by one of their sister dealerships which happens to be a toyota one as well. But I won't know until tomorrow.
