Have had mine since 17 miles. Feb 2004. Only thing I've had to replace is tires, o2 sensor, and batteries.

Unbelievable man, I love hearing this. Not even starter contacts yet huh? That's gotta be coming soon. You could have the contacts in hand preemptively so would be next to no down time. Anyway, love a good Tacoma success story

I know it's probably silly to ponder this 18 years out, but I did a distance check from Fremont where the Nummi plant was, to Burlingame where I bought my truck. It's 20.8 miles. But like I said before, I chose my truck as it sat on a car carrier still in diapers. Makes me wonder if they slipped me a lot model while I was doing the deal in their office. How could it have 23 miles on it when the plastic sheeting stuff was still on it? Other folks here stated having like 7.5 miles on theirs for example. I'm starting to wonder now but at this stage it doesn't matter.

Nah brother-was just posting my thoughts as they happened about this. I love my truck and it's been stellar and I don't want to chase 18 year old ghosts:) Hell when I bought my Lexus I had to sign a permission disclaimer so they could drive the one I wanted from another dealer. So that one had 47 miles on it when I took it over. It happens.

Did you live in South Lake when it was a 2wd? How did it do up there in the winters if so?

Dunno if this counts or not, but my Dad bought my 03 with 10 miles on the odometer. I was 5 at the time and loved that I could ride in the front seat since he could turn the airbags off. 16 years later the truck's mine and has only left me stranded once-when a ball joint fell off because the idiots at the alignment shop only put two of the four bolts back in, and even then I was back on the road by lunch the next day.

Bought mine new at Red McComb’s Toyota in San Antonio in March of 1998. It was a Texas truck the first ten years of its life, and is now in Washington State. Still rust free and on its original clutch.

I just hit 170K miles. At the time of purchase, I was also considering the Jeep Wrangler but even back then, my 23 year old self appreciated the Toyota’s better build quality and practicality. But if I could do it over again, I would have bought an automatic. My knee doesn’t like the truck’s clutch anymore and that’s the only reason I would consider selling it.

That’s a great looking truck! You’ve obviously kept very good care if it.

My daughter has her papa's 2004 2.4l 5-lugger. He got it as a gift from his boss. He busted ass for them for many, many years. So they bought him a new truck. I believe it had less than 20 miles on it. When my daughter turned 16, he told her that she could have it. She just had to pick it up in CA and drive it back to FL. That summer, we flew to CA and had a great road trip back.

10 years later, she still drives it. Has never had any thoughts of getting rid of it. Now that her papa has passed, she is even more determined to keep it forever.

Bought my ‘96 2.7 manual LX in 12/95 from a Philadelphia dealer, new off the lot.
Still have it, only minor repairs over the years and she’s sitting with about 246k
