Going on a quick weekend trip soon to VT near mount snow. Any cool places to check out? Hiking trails to a great view or even light wheeling? Looking for good food places as well.

    Thanks in advance

Also look up Grout Pond, it's another area that's close to go explore.

Without trying to give away too much information, there is a reservoir not far from mt snow that has some good dirt roads nearby.

    That looks familiar.
I hunted and rode snow machines for a lot of years around there.
I know of one road that that goes about 10 miles. Sometimes it was chained up...other times...not. :anonymous:

Fire Tower..It's a hike, but worth it...

Awesome area, spent my entire life around there and actually used to work at Mt Snow.

Grout pond, Somerset reservoir, theres a trail that you can hike/bike around Lake Whitingham in Wilmington, you used to be able to get up near the wind turbines on Searsburg but I'm not sure about that anymore.

There's lots of backroads/class 4's in the area that are fun to explore, especially if you head to the Wardsboro area. Whites Hill is a fun little excursion, used to snowmobile up there. I know its doable in a truck, my mom took her stock 3rd gen up there. Im just not sure how far up you can go. Beware its overgrown and may scratch the shit out of your rig!

I found these maps a few months back and they are super useful for finding trails!

If you're down in the Brattleboro area there are a couple short, easy trails (10-30 minutes) that I've wheeled in my truck and a stock Tundra that are pretty fun.

Sorry for the text wall haha, any questions about local stuff feel free to ask!

Hit up Ron Harrington from Ridgeback Guide service if you want a local tour of Vermonts class 4 roads. He is a Vermonter and runs trail rides that focus on these cool historic routes that are becoming more and more rare on the east coast. hes got trails that are stock friendly and others that are not so much.
