If your brakes are getting squishy hanging upside down then you need to bleed. There's air in there. If it keeps happening after bleed then you have a small leak somewhere and should be fixed. Brakes are so important to me. That the last thing I want to fail. That and my wheels.

Hanging upside down keeps your seals on the fork and shock lubed. They'll dry out and leak if not continuously lubed.

My understanding was hanging upside down or vertical isn't bad, but if it makes your brakes squishy, then like Ranger said, you need to bleed. I used to hang my bike vertically for a long time at my old house and never had any issues.

If you have a hydraulic dropper post, though, that needs to be kept right side up for a while before riding to let the oil inside the post settle back. Doesn't cause any damage though.

exactly. my wife shreds on skis, but since a mountain bike fall several years ago, she's a little apprehensive about getting back into more difficult stuff on a mountain bike.

I've been slowly getting her to ride easy stuff when I go, but its rare. We go road riding together a lot, so when I want to MTB, I go with some more difficult stuff that my wife isn't ready for, and she's totally cool and supportive of it. She's great.

Thats awesome!...Mines the opposite. Tried to get her snowboarding two years ago but she couldn't really get the hang of it and didnt feel like she had interest to keep trying....Maybe i was a bad teacher who knows lol.

But Mountain Biking she absolutely loves. Shes fallen before but hasn't taken a crazy rough tumble yet to scare her from getting back in the saddle. Shes no expert and cant hit jumps but she can keep up with me without falling too far behind for the most part. Its nice and usually a more relaxed ride than when im alone.

As we’ve morphed from bike storage to wives, I thought I’d ask. My wife and I are planning a trip to the Paradise Royale trails on BLM land on the Lost Coast in California. Any of you guys camped and/or ridden there?

might be worth getting her a lesson. Snowboarding is difficult to get the hang of, and doesn't lend well to SOs teaching each other. lol

Part of developing a working solution is to visualize the outcome. I'm just saving you a little time!
