I am from the St.Louis area and just traded my 2016 Focus RS for a new 2019 TRD OffRoad. We have a 2001 Sequoia we purchased new and at 270,000 miles it’s still going strong. In fact we just returned from a 2,000 mile road trip in the old girl and she performed reliably and safely for us.

Thinking about our aging sequoia though, I decided it was time to shift from fun and fast, to fun and reliable and a better match for my needs with my outdoor activity and cycling hobbies as well as being able to tow when needed.

The new Tacoma is a double cab in the cement color with the premium technology package with black leather and also has the black badging and black tailgate insert. Overall very happy with the truck and although it’s a big change from the RS, I have owned a number of other off road vehicle in the past including a 72 FJ40 which I owned back in the early 80’s.

I took an interesting pic of the new truck tonight. When I came out if the grocery store there were no other cars on the lot except this sole Toyota hi-lux pickup sitting nose to nose with my Tacoma. Really in good shape with no major rust.

Just thought I would share that as it was neat to see one in nice original condition. No cream puff but nice nonetheless.

I look forward to spending time pouring through threads and researching the various stickies and other technical details as I typically maintain and modify my own vehicles.

    Thanks!

    JR

Thanks folks, I appreciate the welcome!

I am really enjoying the truck so far. My wife was happy to see the RS go and really likes the truck. If she knew how deep the aftermarket was for these trucks she would have never supported the change!!
