Check out the roads that access the Peshtigo Flyfishing area. They're below High Falls Dam a bit and come in from both sides of the river. If I recall, they were pretty primitive. Lots of other forest roads if you go west too.

If it’s open hit the maintance hangar on the opposite side of the runway from the museum itself.

    Always something getting rebuilt.
    Have fun!

Several years ago one of the guys had a coffin packed with ice cold beers! The story was always “my buddies last request was to go to Oshkosh one last time!”people always wanted to pay their respect...

BookieBob, this will be the first EAA since my dad passed, and he used to go every year. The beer coffin would have made him laugh. Thanks, man.

Finally getting a lift on my 2018 TRD Off-Road. Plan to go with:
Toytec TTBOSSTAC-2016 - Toytec BOSS Suspension System for 16+Tacoma with 650 red coils, front swaybar Relocate kit, Front Diff Drop kit, Toytec Add-a-Leafs with U-Bolts and Shims, Toytec Boss Rear Shocks and Toytec Rear Aluminum 2" Bump Stop Extension Kit. Probably having it done out of Kenosha. Anyone have any opinions on this kit? My last one I had the ToyTec kit with Bilstein 5100s and was happy with it, but this would appear to be one tier above that.

@jmonz444 you interested in my OEM shocks and struts?

If you tow or haul anything, AAL will be temporary. If you can, swap that for a new leaf pack.

My only other note would be the diff drop. I don't know enough about the 3rd gens to know if they're pointless like the 2nd gens. If it was me, I would skip it.

I agree, I would only add it if you get some driveline vibes. It easy to do ATF if needed.

I would add the CB drop before the diff drop.

Sorry about your dad. I’m sure you will bump into people you haven’t seen in a while. I haven’t gone in several years. Our company took us every year in coach busses on Saturday . Always a great time. Listening to approach directing planes for landing is insane. Busiest airport in the world during Adventure week!
    Have a great time @theJCKRBBT

If you go check out the Baby Ace. My girlfriends cousin was the second Paul Probenzey designed plane to fly in the opening ceremony on Monday. He flew it in from the Portland area in hops of 150 miles.

I had a meeting in New London today, so I decided to run to the pipeline afterwards.

There is a ton of storm damage up there, and a lot of the forest roads are blocked by fallen trees. I did manage to get into a few spots, though.

I wound up hitting the section south of Bucks Ranch road. I went through the puddle that scared me off last year, after wading through it and poking around with a stick. I found a very cool area and made it to a big hill climb covered with large rocks. I also explored a road that meets up with the main trail near there, and that was fun until I found another downed tree.

I had an awesome time! I can't wait to get back up there!

Did you make it up the rocky hill? And can you find it again?

I know where that is I'm pretty sure, I didn't go up the hill myself a couple years back. Looking on google maps now

You can't miss it. The pipeline is one road.

No way I could attempt it without a spotter.

We need to get up there this September. I'm thinking of the weekend of the 14th or 21st.

I'll probably go again before then, but September would be good for a camping/off-roading event.

I'd like to attempt that hill, but It will probably take awhile to find the right line. It would be much easier with a lift and some bigger tires.

Also, gaining some serious respect for these KO2's! Even in the puddle with a somewhat mushy bottom, I had good traction. I still want some real mud tires eventually, but these things are surprisingly capable!

I'd be interested in checking it out. Camping in the fall is best. Too hot especially the last few weeks.
