Ok.. I'm waaay behind but here's a couple of things for y'all to ponder.

$37 for a 40# bag of pellets is outrageous. I buy the Pit Boss Competition for $14.96 for a 40# bag from Walmart. They also sell the same for the same price at Menards.
    IMG_20190725_174021.jpg

Secondly, if you're serious about your vacuum sealer, you can check here https://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=97951&catid=1095
Here's a screenshot for those that don't want to click the link.IMG_20190725_174356.jpg
The 5x7 bags are PERFECT for smoked cheese!
The 8x10 ones are close enough to the quart bag.

If you buy the cheaper pellets from Walmart, you can afford a case of vacuum sealer bags no problem.

For those that do a lot of food prep/competitions/etc.. there are a LOT of things on the US Plastic website.

Also, for those making their own rubs and generally doing a lot of cooking.. check this site out
    https://www.webstaurantstore.com/38519/bulk-spices.html##

    That is all for now.

You don't live in California and have to pay California prices though :boink:

I've never seen pellets at my walmart, but I'll check this week when I go brisket hunting.

    Google Walmart Pit Boss Pellets.
I would send you the link but it's tied to my zip code and shows how many in stock etc.
Walmart briskets are pricey, so check a Sam's Club or Costco if you're able.

All the Costco around me have not had them for months. Only flats. Everything is pricey here though. I’m not gonna get one for less than $6-7 a pound

edit: none in stock at either of my local WallyWorlds and I'm not drivin 30 mins each way for pellets for the next closest one lol

I buy Lumberjack locally, 40# for $20. No tax. And it's handy. I can get it anytime, day or night. Just walk in grab a bag, and pay the next day at the Mrs. workplace.

The link I sent was for the 25# stuff but that also have it in ounces and 5# etc. A lot cheaper than most places I've seen.

Also.. a few days ago I posted a eureka moment I had with peeling garlic.

I had thrown a few bulbs in the freezer afterwards thinking it would make the skins come off a lot easier when shaken.

So prepping for a cook tomorrow and I pull out those bulbs and start breaking them down to put in the Tupperware bowl to shake up. As I am breaking the cloves apart.. they start jumping out of their skins before I even shook them! Peeled 3 whole bulbs in less than 10 minutes. Totally freezing all my garlic cloves/bulbs from now on unless someone has a reason I shouldn't?

After 19 years in Florida you’re gonna freeze to death in the winters up north.

They have pellets right next to all the smoking chip, chunks and charcoal in all of them here.
