The Cooper STTs have been saving my ass on the beach here in Florida lately. STTs plus the locker have been getting through the softest sand sections I never thought possible.

A locked rear end 2 wheel drive can sometimes go where plain 4 wheel drives can't go.... And of course vice versa. But 2wd with rear locker isn't anything to laugh at either. For our TRD prerunner brethren.

I'm the original owner of my '99 Tacoma Xtra Cab(4x4, V6, SR5). Purchased new from Hayward Toyota in 1999. Truck was built in the NUMMI factory in Fremont. After 3 rear end & 2 front end accidents, a bashed in camper shell window theft, item theft in cab, new clutch (after 19 years), engine swap (head gasket went out, 130k low mileage engine installed), various mods & upgrades, looks good with its minor scratches/nicks/dings, and it's still running. It's my first pickup truck that I ever bought after being inspired by my friend who bought a late '80s Toyota Xtra Cab 4x4 truck new. Here's a picture of it from a couple of years ago.

Didn't get another Tacoma until '16 when I got the DCSB OR.

My gal bought her '87 Celica GTS new which she still has from Bob Reynolds Toyota in Hayward. I wonder if Hayward Toyota used to be Bob Reynolds Toyota?
BTW her GTS was 100% built in Japan and came over on a ship.

I just called Rosie and she corrected me on the name of the Hayward dealer she bought her GTS from. It was actually called S&K Toyota not Bob Reynolds. Bob Reynolds Toyota was replaced by San Francisco Toyota on Geary Street. My bad.

Original owner of my 2000. Six miles on the ODO when I picked it up. Not many for the next 16 years, and now...quite a few every year.

I bought it from my dad when it was at 5 years and 55,000 miles for $14,000. I've spent 2.5 times that amount in maintenance, repairs and mods in the past 15 years, and I'm hoping for another 10 years at least. I'm not quite the original owner, but I may as well be. At least I didn't eat the $12K loss of value in its first 5 years.

They named it "black sand pearl" back then GQ:) when the sun shines on it you can really see the pearl metallica.

What makes it glossy is my steadfast and relentless finish care:humble:but the "sand pearl" within the black sort of floats in there. I find it hard to focus when I look at it.
