Rust comes on fast even with the slightest water contamination. Nothing you can really do about it. Its not stainless steel so itll do it in snowy/rainy areas.

Many vehicles look like this in just a few months. Those bolts are definitely not stainless.

Good excuse for them to give you a discount on a new TRD exhaust. Work it to your advantage.

You’ve got to get under it when brand new.

Owned 363 days now, parked outside in the rainy Pacific Northwest. It’s still looking good.
I sprayed rust converter paint on small spots of rust along with high temp paint in the first few days of ownership.

Clean on the outside, rusty on the inside.

    Pics from March, 2018.

My exhaust after 33k, no drives on sand and it snows maybe twice a year where I live.

I thought mine was rusty and I live in So Cal, but its all baked on clay from New Mexico that wont easily wash off.

Looks about the same as mine now. Will be putting stainless in when I get around to it. Still an awesome truck at 3 1/2 years.

Driving conditions are like people. Unique. Steel+heat+water+salt. One guy may live in a salt state, but never get his truck up to temp. The hotter you get it, the more it will react.

That’s not a lot of rust. Fluid filming that area is A waste of time.
