B1F2BE88-DD77-423A-99D3-5574E5A32316.jpg My son recently bought an axle tube for his 2004 Tundra, to replace a rotten leaking one. Tube came with a part Ive never seen or heard of before. Son says the part goes inside the axles tubes in the pumpkin. Any ideas what it is and its purpose?

    Reserected from the dead.
It's an oil baffle. There was a recall on some of the 2Nd Gen tundras using this part. I don't remember details involving 1st gens.

^^^^this. Keeps the majority of the oil splashing into the diff instead of into the axle tubes to make sure the 3rd member stays lubricated. It pops into the axle tube, there's one on each side.
