    6" LIFT
ok tacoma world need some advice. I had a factory lift and went up 2 more inches. When doing this it then created a bad angle on my rear diff to my shaft. I have googled solutions and found a couple cheap ones. One was buying spring helpers and installing them in reverse. It worked, 80% better, but man the rear springs squeaked bad. Another was to add a shackle bolt 6" from rear axel. This worked well but still slams 1 out of 5 times. I have seen some kits but not one for a tacoma. You can see my rear diff pointing lower just a bit and what happens when I break the yoke binds and then when I release the break it pops down. Its more irritating more then anything else. Been to a driveshaft garage and they said not much can be done. I wanna know if anyone else has this prob and what kit will fit my 2010 tacoma I can install myself.

May check your carrier bearing. I could feel driveshaft bump when coming to complete stop and then when you let-off the break...

If its your carrier bearing then use only TOYOTA OEM bearing to replace.

You are throwing money away guessing at a solution. What kind of 2" rear lift are you running? Leaf pack, aal, or blocks? When you say factory lift, does that mean no lift?

carrier bearing is 2 months old so I am good there. Wattapunk I have a RCD 6" lift with a block in the back under the spring.

It's likely your rear blocks causing axle wrap. They give the axle more leverage against your leafs. The solution is a full replacement leaf pack.

ok I kinda looked at doing that. Now are you saying replace with more leafs to remove the block? or just the leafs on the block and keep the block there?

Yes, blocks are known to cause axle wrap along with shortening the life of springs. Either go with an aal or ideally a leaf pack.

Replace the block with a leaf pack made for the lift you want.

Since you are running a 6 inch lift, you probably need to call up Alcan to have them get you some leafs that will have you level in the back.

I'm converting my block lift to springs very soon. I dont have problems with my block lift.....yet. I went to archive garage on here. Highly recommended. I'm going to deaver u402 springs, 1" block if need be, a flip kit, and archive hammer hangers, relocation bracket, and kings. Not cheap. But buy the best and its buy once, be happy as long as I own the truck. Not including my new axel this is about 3k without labor. Price of a lifted supertruck.

No matter what route you go with on springs...your binding issue is in the sliding joint in the driveshaft. Need to drop it and lube with the motorcraft lube.

Bishop are those bolt on or need welding?

Armkb - is the sliding joint where the rubber boot is just behind my center bearing? was reading a post on that in here.

I've seen bolt on and welded, you'd need to do some research as I've never installed one, but I've seen them on mostly 6+" lifts.
