I recently had 2 ignition coils, a spark plug wire set and an injector relay sensor replaced in my 1998 Tacoma. My husband noticed that it was having an issue accelerating after coming to a stop. After letting off the gas, the truck wouldnt move forward and hed have to press the gas following with the engine reving like it was in nuteral before it would catch up and go. Any thoughts?

if it is an automatic trans I would suspect low fluid level in the trans as a starting point.

Glamisman gives a solid starting point. If either the transmission fill bolt is loose, or low on trans fluid you will get that problem with lack of acceleration with high revs. Also with low fluid you may notice at a idle your truck hunting gears even just in idle.

Other source could be a bad fuel filter that's too clogged which would cause similar issues (especially if you notice the truck doesn't move then suddenly jerks forward after having pressing the gas for a while instead of correlating with the rpms).

Another could problem could be the fuel pump going which for some reason happens most often in the cold season I find (happened to my 2.4 tacoma this winter, and my 3.4 4runner a couple years ago during winter - may just be a coincidence though). Hard to tell for sure if the fuel pump is the issue as often times it just flat dies and shows no signs of wearing. Other times though you can tell by if your engine sounds much more quiet than usual, and like the fuel filter the hesitation/pause in movement from a stop and go. If one of either (fuel pump or filter) of those is a problem, likely both will be needing of changing in the soon to come future.

Other issue though I'd imagine being less likely though still possible would be say a dirty MAF sensor that just need to be spray cleaned with some maf cleaner. Just unscrew the maf sensor and check if its been carboned up or not. Or perhaps theres a hole in one of your air hoses such as your air intake hose tubs or perhaps one got disconnected.

Hm, there may be more ideas I can figure but thats what comes to mind atm. Any more information about your truck would help us guide you such as the engine type, and any more detailed explanation of the symptoms.

Were those parts replaced BECAUSE of the hesitation issue, or did the issue begin AFTER the parts (coils, wires sensor) were installed ?

Also, I've never heard of an 'injector relay sensor' .
