3rd generation badges on a 2nd generation tailgate

Understandably not everyone’s cup of tea but thought I would give it a try.
I have the “4x4” badge ordered for the left side.

 

Looks good. My opinion. The V6 emblem out of place, looks out of place. I would take off the V6 of emblem and just leave it at that. Don't put the 4X4 sticker on.

 

Lettering looks good, I'd prob leave the V6 and 4x4 badges off but thats just my preference.

 

Two of y’all have said that. I already have the 4x4 ordered so I will give it a try, but I may take it and the v6 back off, we will see.

 

Since you already have 4X4 on the mudflaps, putting it on the tailgate is just too much. personally I don't like any 4X4 lettering. It's not like people go, "Oh, hey, look, that Tacoma's a 4WD. Cool!"

 

Good point.I guess in reality it is all more aesthetics than informational though.

 

I like the "TACOMA"!. Very nice!

Maybe if the V6 was on the lower edge of the tailgate it would look better?

But the 4X4 badge with the 4x4 mudflaps would definitely look overdone in my personal opinion

Maybe plain mudflaps and the 4x4 badge on the driver's side bottom of the tailgate The dark color of the emblems makes them less in your face.

Just an idea.

 

Where did you order the badges and TACOMA from?

 

I ordered them on Amazon. There were several choices. The letters came pre-spaced which helped tremendously

 

I placed the V6 based on where they are on 3rd gens. I may plastidip the mudflaps black to cover the white 4x4. It does get a little busy with all of that.

 

looks good. I would also probably try with removing the "V6" to give it that cleaner look, and leave the 4x4 in white on the mud flaps...

 

Get rid of the V6 and the flaps.
