So I just bought a set of the bilstein 5100 coilovers. That being said do I need to install a diff drop kit? And for the rear my lift springs are flat so I'm guessing it's best just for a complete new set?? And what's up with the bouncing gear selector?? Thank you all for the help!

5100’s do not automatically require dif drop kit. Keep the lift to 2” and under.

As others said, only if you crank them all the way to the top setting would a diff drop be suggested. As for the rear, you *could* get an add-a-leaf but if they are warn out, it's better to just get all new springs. You could get some factory replacement ones and then an add-a-leaf, or better yet, get ones that have the lift already, like OME Dakars.

Really, it all depends on your budget, what kind of performance you want out of them, and how much lift you want.

5100s are adjustable, if you only put them on the middle setting, that's not enough of a change to really warrant the diff drop. Would it hurt anything? No, but the consensus is that anything over 2" or more and you should have the diff drop.

Is the flat leaf springs in the back is that known as axle wrap?
