Last week prior to installing my 6112s, I swapped out my needle bearing for the ECGS bushing. Like many others I had some issues getting the nut into place behind the bearing, and had to grind down the edges to get it to fit. When trying to get the nut into place, I could tell it was almost there, so I hit the edge with a hammer and punch, and it popped right into place. Then I removed the bearing as planned. Only afterwards did my buddy who was helping me notice that the lip of the bearing was busted. Turns out the corner of the nut broke this lip when I hammered it in. Well, we looked and sure enough inside the diff was the matching piece the we busted. Had my buddy not seen it, we could have pushed that piece into the diff, or it would have prevented us from seating the new bushing correctly. To anyone who does this job; be careful if you have to force the nut into place, and check the bearing when it comes out. If the outer race is damaged like mine, then you have a missing piece to find before you can proceed.

At least it was easily found and you didn't have to fish it out!
    Edit: How are the 6112's?
