I just order my Airflow snorkel for my 2nd gen. Had a nice long conversation with an Australian gent named Michael that is an the aerodynamics engineer for Airflow. I had been researching the differences between ARB and Airflow and which pre-filter to use in dusty conditions. What I had in mind and seen time and time again on forums was not what Michael had suggested. So biggest difference between the two is the air flow into the intake with the stock head on the snorkel. He stated that the ARB head design wasn't as efficient in air delivery to the intake as the Airflow. The corrugated tubing that everyone thought was cheap that Airflow uses to pipe to the intake is designed that way for less restricted air movement. The butyl rubber connections in combination with the head design of the ARB cause it to shrink at speed because its flexible and the vacuum component and he went in to great detail why. As far as pre-filers he only suggested one. The Donaldson top spin. Its cuss ugly, but in the wind tunnel it performed the best and isn't horribly expensive. Oh and lastly the Airflow has a break a way design from the A-pillar if it gets hung up, the ARB doesn't. He recounted a story of two guys getting there snorkels hung up on a trip. The gentleman with the ARB snorkel laughed when the Airflow broke free after hitting the tree. But he wasn't laughing when he did the same thing with his new land cruiser and bent the A-pillar and wrinkled the roof. Take with it a grain of salt just one guy talking to the other but I thought I'd share

Airflow rep states their product is superior. News at 11.

Most people have started using mounting tape instead of the rivnuts in the a-pillar anyway.

I emailed Airflow though the website and then got a phone number for Australia. I then spoke to the rep in Australia who then put me in contact with production in Vietnam. From there we did a credit card purchase via phone and he shipped it out in a week. Hope this helps you out
