I'm on the Big Island. Driving to and from East to West drove me crazy with the shifting and the bogging of the engine (up to 6,500 ft and back down).

Oh boy is it a rabbit hole! Way back in the day I boosted my 2000 Celica GT-S. The XS Engineering kit alone was $6k but after everything else it ended up being ~$10k when it was all said and done. It could have been ALOT more if I didn't have "friend hookups" and "friend" pricing for things like labor and such.

Of course, then I proceeded to get my first speeding ticket going north on H2 from H1. The officer that pulled me over wanted to talk more about the car than giving me a ticket. Ended up with a 8 over ticket when it could have been much much much worse. Lets say I was well over 3 digits and still accelerating. My soon to be wife was in the car with me and she was PISSED! I jokingly asked the officer if it was too late to be arrested to avoid the arse chewing and he just laughed and told me to watch the lead foot.
