I just test drove the SR 4x4 four-cylinder five-speed 2017 Tacoma I want to buy, but I was a little bit disappointed by the feeling in the clutch. The pedal would stick to the floor just a tiny bit, and if I pulled my foot up fast enough the pedal would fly back up and slap the bottom of my foot about halfway up. The guy with me on the test drive didn't know anything, but said he thought it might just take some breaking in. I've never felt a clutch like that before...

    Anyone experienced this?

When it's cold out, say less than 20 degrees this is pretty common. Other than that, nope.

Mines a little slow at first when it’s close to 0*F, and in general was really weird my first time. No complaints 15 months and 17k in.

Hopefully they can adjust it or something. It felt pretty weird. Maybe it loosens up. I don't think I can buy a new truck if the clutch feels like that...

I’m having the same issue with my 2016 Toyota Tacoma 4WD 5spd MT. Clutch sticks for a bit and it pops back up suddenly. I live in California so it can’t be that it’s cold and it I can replicate it while the vehicle is off and on neutral. It’s at the stealership now since it’s under warranty. I’m expecting it would be covered since it has to do with the clutch pedal assembly but they’re saying it might be the clutch itself that is going bad. Which I highly doubt since it’s at 30,000 miles and it shifts smoothly every time when I’m driving.

So my question is, did OP or anyone else ever figured it out or is it normal?

Do you live in a cold enviorenment?. I live in SoCal but in the winter it gets to 35-40°F where I live and the clutch pedal does that same thing. But it all gets better after the truck warms up and it doesn't do it at all the rest of the year. I wouldn't let this deter you from looking at this truck.
