    SCS RAYS
Found a great deal on 5 SCS Rays so I purchased a used spare tire since now I have 5 matching wheels.
Currently only have it strapped down to the bed of the truck. I feel this is enough for me, no need for a bed rack or tire carrier

Bought one off another member on here for a great price. Only needed to purchase (3) 1/2in bolts.

I’ve been putting this off too long. Did you do them in the rear too?

Did Kartek sell the whole kit including weld on tabs?

Not in the rear because I might end up getting 2.0 smoothies and I would need longer once. That thump isn’t as bad in the rear as was in front.

You have to piece everything together from Kartek, but they are usually very good in helping you out to point you in the right direction.

If you need help just send me a message

    Total Chaos Gussets

Finally decided to get gussets on the spindles. The process was fairly easy because I had an extra set lying around. Prepped those and just swapped them out!
    Scroll through for the process

    4.88 Gears & K&N intake
Finally decided to re-gear the truck! I went with 4.88 because I am running 315/70/17 & a couple shops recommended these over 4.56. I wish I would have done this earlier! In the first test drive, the truck felt super light!

    I also added a K&N intake just because I don’t like snorkels

    No fender liners? No problem
After having trimmed my fenders, I couldn't reuse my fender liners & for months I was trying to find alternatives to cover my intake hole because of water & dust & I do not like snorkels.
I decided to purchase an aftermarket intake from K&N & then cover the hole on the fender well.

I used a 3in (ID) ABS piping with a screw on cap. The outside diameter is 4in exactly so that gave me about 1/8 of an inch all around the hole. I used adhesive sealant to cover that extra gap & it works amazing. I can screw the cap on when I’m going to cross thru a river/deep water or when it’s going to get dusty. Around town I leave it open and when I need to cap it I just screw the cap on.

I’ve been thinking of doing something similar with my light switches! I like what you’ve done

Nice truck, how much trimming did you end up for the 17x9 wheels and how much do your uca's squeak?

The SCS Rays fit just fine with the previous trimming I did to it.

TC uca squeak quite often unless I grease the bushings. Been thinking of switching back to JBA or maybe SPC

Thank you so much that makes my choice of spc easy then, I really dont want to destroy my fender liners too much exposing the engine to more dust and dirt so I think the 17x9 will not be a good choice it

edit: my biggest concern is removing liner and not being able to protect the engine bay and components.

Once you remove the liner I highly recommend to get a snorkel or aftermarket intake to avoid getting junk inside your intake

If you look at the above posts you’ll see what I did to prevent water & dust. Works good for me

17x9 -38mm is very aggressive for our trucks but I like the look on it
