Updated grill ideas for late model Tacomas with TSS

Thanks man! Took a lot of cutting, epoxy, and sanding. I got a stock OR grille, cut out the middle, then cut some 2in strips of ABS, adhered them to it, then had to cut the actual grille mount to get the mesh to fit. Cut the mesh so it would fit into the hole, then anchored it with some ABS "posts" and epoxy. Lots of sanding, priming, sanding, filling, sanding, filling, and sanding. I think if I did it again I would do it a bit shallower

 

That's not saying much there, considering his "hit" list.

 

Does anyone know if the 2019 grille emblem with tss will work in a 2016-2017 grille?

 

Wow interesting & very crafty! I liked how recessed it is & subtle looking. The trim piece paint matched silver kinda adds to the look also!

 

Has anyone tried to modify the BAMF recessed grille to work with TSS or if it’s possible? I know you can purchase the TSS garnish on Amazon. Just picked up a ‘19 OR and the grille is def something I’d like to replace but I don’t want to do the same ol Heritage grille. Also thought about going the black plasti dip route on it. Just hate how shiny it is. Really diggin the ideas on this thread though

 

is your truck a 2018? if so how did you get the Pre-collision censor re calibrated to your grill? the Toyota dealers near me wont do it.

Sure is! I actually didn't - they sent me the notice in the mail that I needed it done and when I took it just for it's 15k service I opted out told them not to worry about the sensor and grill, I've had no issues. I haven't had any issues with the sensor malfunctioning at any point. But, I also travel 60 miles to the other dealer in my area. The one (2 literal blocks from my work) is not a fun dealer to deal with. Sometimes you have to find a dealer that's wanting to work with you.

Ihave the SAME grill and my warning for the collsion sensor won't shut off. that's from bullet proof right?? i that's the one i have. i went to two dealers and no one will callibrate it for me
