    None right now
Hello all thank you for this Forum. I have a 2009 Tacoma TRD Prerunner that is all stock. I love it but it became my sons and I am now looking for another Tacoma. I have not really modified any of my vehicles in the past but he would like to the following and I have no idea where to start what to do. We have to replace the shocks and thought we might as well get the truck to what he wants. We have average mechanical skills working on motorcycles, quads and I work on our airplane.

    1. He would like to put a small lift on but I do not like the idea of just doing blocks. What is the smallest lift kit? (do we do __" front __" back?) Do we buy a kit or purchase items separately?

    2. What size tires and rims will this support?

    3. Another option is doing just tires and rims but he would like to just fill up the wheel well more. What size do we go with to accomplish this with out causing and rubbing problems?

Details and picture would be appreciated Thank you for you help and advice as we have never done a lift before.

    Too few to list.
Hi Carl. Welcome to the site. What's your budget for the lift? Cheapest preferred way to lift the front are Bilstein 5100's as the lift height are adjustable (.85", 1.75" and 2.5"). I don't recommend the 2.5" as it will be stiff. At .85", you wouldn't need to do any lift in the rear. At 1.75", you'd need at least a 1" block (not preferred) or a 1.5" add a leaf (single or multi-leaf). I don't recommend going any higher than this as you'd need more $$ for more parts. If you just want to fill in the wheel well, I recommend Bilstein 5100 set at .85" as well as 5100's for the rear. 265/75R16 tires (Falkens, Coopers, Duratracs). If you go with aftermarket wheels, make sure they are hub centric with 4.5" back spacing. Also the lighter the better.

Below is stock height with 265/75R16 Wrangler Duratracs and MK6 wheels zero offset.
