Hi everyone. My father-in-law has a 4 cylinder engine from a 1997. His engine blew up in a 1997 v6. Can he put the 4 cyl in the v6 truck? If so how difficult and what else needs to be changed over?

    No.

Engine perches are different, engine harness is different, interior harness is different, ECU is different, emissions and fuel delivery is different, exhaust is different.

I can go on forever. Just go buy a used JDM engine for about $1,000 and call it a day.

Complete OME suspension kit, Used low mileage V6 engine swap, black powder coated Chou Seiki T15x7JJ, ARB deluxe bumper, Smitty Bilt nerf bars, Weathertech floor liners, Torklift tiedowns
Having my mechanic replace my last V6 engine block (blown headgasket) with an engine swap (130K miles, good running condition), it would be best to buy another 3.4L V6 engine, have it installed to work with all of the original parts in the engine block as BARTmaster1234 advised.

Most would want to go from 4cylinder to v6 or v8

Then it would depend where your skill set is lots of Fabrication and rewiring .

If you could find a shop to do this most likely very expensive
