I've had this Henry Big Boy Carbine in .44 Magnum for about 2-3 years and have had a blast owning/shooting it.

I'd like to see what everyone else shoots and what problems y'all have experienced with your lever action?

The only problem I've ever run into with a lever gun was with the Hornady LeverEvolution ammo. My buddy's Marlin 336 (pre-microgroove .35 Rem) kept stripping the tips and they'd jam the action. But I think it was a fluke with his gun, because my 80's model (same caliber) shoots them without any issues. And I've never had a problem with them in my post-74 30-30 or my ancient .32spl Winchesters, either. :notsure:

Rossi92 in .44mag. Don’t shoot it as often as I’d like but it’s been good.

Have some .22lr levers and an old war era Winchester 30-30 with the gold plugs in the wood.

Had to make a lateral adjustment to the rear sight this afternoon. Seems the factory installed it a little to the right when I got it.

I'm thoroughly impressed at the amount of lever gun owners on this forum!

I have a couple pre-sale Marlin 336 .30-.30's. Found this one in a pawn shop and made myself a truck gun out of it. Cut the barrel down to 16.5 inches, had it cerkoted, skinner sights, and plastic forearm/stock.

Don’t shoot it a lot but every gun owner needs at least one lever action. Too classic to not own.

Bought this Ted Williams 30-30 for my wife. She’s a Red Sox fan and thought she would appreciate the correlation. I’ve shot it several times, she has yet to.

My Marlin 1895 in 45-70 is my favorite gun I own. We all know how to shoot these classic rifles, most of us had a BB gun just like it as kids.
Try not to notice my crazy shotgun.

Let me describe an incident with my Henry Golden Boy .22. Came back from shooting, removed the tubular magazine, worked the lever three times, pulled the trigger and Bang! Almost shot my printer.
Any ideas what caused my first accidental/ negligent discharge in 50 years of shooting.

Always check the chamber to make sure it's clear before pulling the trigger

could be a dirty ejector/bolt face, it was enough to cycle the round but slipped when you went to clear it. I always verify by looking in the breech of the barrel, especially in .22's they all hang up and sometimes dont eject at some point.

I'm guessing there was a bullet in the chamber.

Always assume the gun is loaded until you look in the chamber. Rule #1.
