I know someone who did an AAL to a Dakar heavy (96R). :notsure: Seems to run fine.

What are you trying to accomplish going with a 3 leaf vs. a simple aal? Ride quality will stiffen with an empty bed along with higher rear lift. Not sure if a 3 leaf is even a straight forward or possibility due to longer U-bolts needed and placement of leafs with the Dakar leafs.

Are you asking what will happen if you add a 3-leaf AAL to a Dakar leaf pack versus a single AAL?

Too much rake. On top of a really, really harsh ride.

What's the amount of weight you carry? Rough numbers.

You should be okay. Real world vs numbers are always different. If you install them and still sag loaded up, I would install the single AAL that is designed for the Dakars. If you install that and still sag, some higher rate leaf springs are needed.

Do it right. I would NOT suggest adding a 3 leaf AAL to the Dakars. I have never heard of anyone doing that.

I run sliders, skids, winch & mount + junk. That’s 400-450 pounds on OME Dakar Mediums.

Airbags or higher rated springs if you plan anything off pavement.

I am at 500 out back unloaded (topper, roof rack, high clearance bumper with swingout). I had a RTT up top last week, unloaded, so I was right around 600-625. I am planning on stage III U402 Deavers to replace the HD Dakars soon.

HD Dakars with the proper OME full length AAL will be your highest load carrying option

EDIT - I have EL095R (dakar mediums, which are the HD dakars without the 3rd leaf) and I dunno that i would run them on a truck with any consistent weight in the bed. Anything more than 50-100 lbs, get the HD's and above say 300 lbs, HD's + OME AAL.

I have the HD dakars (96) ...and I just added another leaf to support a shell and swingout bumper.
