My stock muffler blew open at the seam and I would like to replace just the muffler since the forward and aft pipes are good shape. Does anyone know of a replacement muffler that will sound the same (I want my daily driver to be quiet) as stock and fit right in with cutting of course? I checked the dealer for the entire replacement muffler tailpipe and it is way too expensive. Has anyone done this and could give me some suggestions? The truck only has 57000 miles. Thanks

Mine had a hole that was getting bigger, louder, after 12 years and somewhere around 300k I replaced it. I went OEM because: 1- it lasted 10+ years. 2- bolts and 2 minutes with a sawzall and it was free, another minute and it was out. 3- I've gone the cut and weld route before and they never lasted as long as the factory exhaust.

I got everything for just under 500. Take a couple butts and coffee (I was doing this first thing in the morning and don't get between me and my coffee), out of the equation and it's less than an hour job.
And do the math, I figure it costs just under $60 a year. Much cheaper than spending a couple of hundred every couple years.

Got used 16 exhaust and installed on my 2010. Need to splice your front piece to 16 on and rear hanger need to bend to match yours .Used sleeve and band clamp to join. Ended up welding new hanger in back .Exhaust was $40 on craigslist so chanced it and it works

Got pics but past 2 days been having problems loading pics. Will try again latter .

I went with a thrush hush. Its a magnaflow like design and not overly loud. I then used rust prevention black paint on it and have had no issues. with having a friend weld it for me i was $30 for the muffler, Rust prevention paint (already had some) and a 6 pack of his favorite beer. Had it for 3 years and no issues. So up to you. Spend $$$$ for OEM which is a good choice, or spend less and roll the dice. Like i said i really like my Thrush and spent less than 1/10 of what alot of people pay for OEM.

Walker SS Quiet Flow muffler and intermediate pipe $114 with lifetime warranty - that's from the cat all the way back. Fits stock mounts. OK quality but tailpipe bends are the ridged type (cheaper to do) but in cab noise about stock while louder at full throttle. Painted it all black. Cheap and easy.

Dynomax 'Super Turbo' is a cheap, "quiet as stock" muffler. It'll probably only last a couple winters if you're in the salt-brine states though. That stuff is brutal on aluminized steel.
