agreed, but i'd consider all these infernos to have an orange color to them. this is the same thing as all of these inferno trucks right?

At Guntersville, you're pretty much up everyone's butt, not a lot of privacy. Turnipseed at Cheaha is an awesome place to car camp, and plus, it's only 2 mile hike up to the Pinhoti trail from there.

There's Kentuck ORV right there at Cheaha, but it's mostly ATV trails. What truck trails there are, there are holes that will swallow your truck whole, not good if you're in a Tacoma. Good if you have 40" tires! I don't know of any trails in Guntersville. There was some trails by Buck's Pocket, but I believe they have gated them off, due to so many folks running off the side of the mountain.

Cherokee Rock Village is my stomping grounds! Hiking trails, breathtaking view of Weiss Lake, but no truck trails.

Does anyone have opinions on either of these bedcovers? I am looking to eventually get a bed rack for a RTT, but that's not a solid plan yet. The rack I was looking at would need a special bracket for the BAKFlip bed cover, so I don't see the needs to spend $400 more on basically the same thing. I haven't heard much about Rough Country, but I like it because its the closest I can get to the OEM look. Still haven't found a damn OEM Tonneau...

Thanks for the tips! I just need some kind of protection for things in the bed from time to time, and don't have the garage space to store 2 setups. I'll probably go with the cheaper cover for now. Still not sure about a RTT, I figure once I start camping more, I might need it. Trying to avoid buying all the things and using nothing.

How do you like the shell on the bed? Looked into those too, I just don't know how I feel about spending 2-3k on one.

Wife and I at the most popular lookout spot of Cherokee Rock Village. We grew up calling it Little Rock City, then the land was bought up and turned into a more touristy spot. Our favorite primitive camping spot there, now has a house residing on it. Pisses us off to this day. We brought up the kids camping in that spot!

It’s all based on individual. I don’t have garage space or one tall enough for a hoist. Had a camper shell but it’s too heavy to take off when you need the bed again, had an rtt on the shell and that was rough. Got a bed rack and put the rtt on it and that was much better but didn’t use the rtt enough and still didn’t really have anywhere great to store it. Now im just the bedrack with nothing on it but I strap stuff to it and can use it for a ladder rack if needed. Much easier to take off than a camper shell. That being said, when using the shell, it was the most useful item to me because of all dry storage and not having to strap stuff down at all.

I know what you mean. It use to be so peaceful up there. I went one time after they started construction, it was so disappointing. Some things need to be left alone for people to enjoy the natural beauty. I feel like everywhere I find that is perfect. Somebody has to come in with the sole purpose to make money. It’s happing more and more everyday.

Yeah, that road going up there used to be unpaved, rocky, muddy, cherty, and you had to give it hell to get up there when it was wet. Now it's just a paved road for all cars to drive up. I can understand the climbing appeal though, I learned how to climb and rappell there as a teenager. It's got some of the best climbing spots around here.
