So I've been looking around to jump into the pickup truck world and I believe the Tacoma would be my best option for my needs. I figured since the new refresh model is coming bringing in LED lights and 360 camera among others improvements, that dealers would be interested in "clearing out" their 2019's before the new ones hit. Though I see the prices are not very "low" or anywhere near lower. Is it because this truck is in such a demand that dealers don't have to give a good deal and will wait for somebody who will pay their price? Am I too early? Am I too specific in the options I want? I figured that for the options I want:

    4x4 Off-Road
    LB
    Tech package

37k would be a very reasonable price. Though I'm seeing those particular optioned trucks in 39k and up range. Some are cheaper but if I have to fly across the country or ship the truck, that difference is wiped out in those fees. Am I expecting too much?

I'm also waiting for a 2020. My thinking is,they may be more 'willing' to cut deals for the 19's once the 2020's start hitting the lots. Though we can't be for sure what pricing the new trucks will come out to as it hasn't be released yet,but I'm hoping it won't be ridiculous. If it is,a 19 will still be a great option.

They said Sept/Oct is when they normally have a better idea. Patience is key lol

    Where?
Threads like these without location can be pretty deceiving.

I wanted a 12-15 DCLB OR and couldn't find one so I went new (17 DCLB OR mgm, prem & tech) and it was a lot more than 35.
Here in socal I think the sr5 is around 35.

Prices tend to go up, up, up, in the auto industry.

I have the same strategy, waiting for September to get here, and deal on a 2019. Luckily I have several dealers to choose from in my area. Check the Toyota site for discounts in your area. For Ohio they had $750 cash back last month and $1000 cash back this month. I’m hoping it’ll bump up a bit, and maybe a deal on financing by September. Most dealers here are offering a discount off MSRP also, again that’s central Ohio. Good luck!
