From a trip to Canyon Lake several years ago. I'm realizing I need to get out more and take pictures...

 

Little trip last weekend to PINS. Love the beach, hate the sand. Well, at least hate it most of the time. Took me all week to clean the sand out of everything. Only place that didn't have sand was in the tents. Which is a plus, but with all that gear, it was still a chore.

 

Found sand from the SPI trip over memorial in the tent when i set it up for last weeks trip... I thought i got it all awhile back

 

It will creep out of every nook and cranny, and hang there as well. I power washed and garden hosed under the truck and still kept finding little pockets hanging on. On the tents we all made sure to shower well before we got in. Had towels hanging up top to brush off our lower legs with just before crawling in. The trailer was awash in sand .. lol.

 

yea I washed my truck about a dozen times with the hose before I got 99% of the sand out of it, surprised how fast the rust set in after one beach trip though

 

All my stainless bolts for the tents got a light coat of rust, only on the ocean side of them. Nasty environment for sure.

Yes, it's the smitty scout trailer.

 

How do you like it? I thought about one since it's almost perfect, but I wanted to redo the finish. It was either the Smitty or a Taxa Wooly Bear that would be perfect for me, and not some damn open bed trailer for $15k

 

I like it so far. I've done some off road trails in CO with it and it didn't even feel like it was back there. I think the paint could be better on it, but I'm just letting it go for now and will eventually shoot it with some raptor and paint. I think the latest version they switched to a different company that makes them so they may have upgraded some things as well. But I think I recall hearing of a slight price hike as well. Just ordered this on an acrylic facemount for a client here in Dallas. Can't wait to see how this comes out as it's my first print of this type and want to see how it compares to the aluminum prints I have been mostly offering.
