Place to work on truck

I live in a condo complex and they don't allow you to work on your car in the parking lot. I want do some simple rust prevention on my rear axle but don't know how to go about it. I was thinking maybe an AutoZone or Walmart parking lot but I am not sure on their rules. This shouldn't take more than 15 minutes, but I don't want to break any rules in doing so. Do any of you know places that are cool with minor car maintenance? I am located in North Scottsdale if that helps.

I replaced the head gasket on a Dodge Spirit in the parking lot of the local Auto Zone...their tools also.

 

That's exactly where I went. I went in and asked for their permission before I started rattle-can'n in their parking lot. They gave me permission to do it on the side of their store, super nice guys!

 

Should've called the boys for a bbq at autozone LOL.

 

How about driving out into the desert? Find some shade under a saguaro.
