So I roll up to the DMV in Dorchester County to pick up my sticker and registration and they charge me $76 bucks because I drive a truck that can tow things.

Am I crazy to think I’ve never paid a fee like this in South Carolina.:der:

Charleston area is ran by a bunch of crazy-ass people.

Doing 501st stuff, I met some & heard about many more from members living down there.

Crazy-ass politicians (left, right, or moderate) make really crazy-ass laws.

    Edit:
When you usually meet a politician at a public event, they are almost always charm & overly friendly. I’ve meet many, of all stripes. Very few leave you, in person, wondering “how the hell did they get you elected?”
Many as hypocritical (literally- “false faced” & originally used for actors & clowns), snakes, manipulative, & really good at making one feel like “they can do what you need/want them to do.”

The ones I’ve met at events in Chuck-Town (I have no idea if local, city, county, or state) left me feeling “WTF?”

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
Pretty sure I've never paid anything like that in any county in SC I've lived in. That's the old tacos and the F150s.

I’ve never have either. The chick was like if you don’t pay this fee and get pulled over towing anything you get fined. :boom:

That sounds like someone at the DMV not understanding the laws to me. You drive a passenger vehicle not a truck.

    http://www.scdmvonline.com/Fees

Gross Vehicle Weight Fee: "Schedule of License Fees"
"Any truck with an empty weight of 9,000 lbs or less and a GVW of 11,000 lbs or less can be classified as a passenger vehicle and display any license plate that a passenger vehicle can display"

    https://law.justia.com/codes/south-carolina/2012/title-56/chapter-3/section-56-3-630/

My taxes were $108 this year:D

We were talking about this in the SOS thread. Google Maps shows us at The Flats in Earth view when we went for Eddy's birthday bash.
