I researched/drove both before buying a Tacoma and have to disagree with this. Beyond its absurd Accord-with-a-bed profile, the Ridgeline falls flat in other areas in comparison to the Tacoma IMO. Limited rear door access; silly ratcheting captains armrests that are too close to the seat; worst infotainment system in the segment; lack of center armrest (a purse cache instead); lack of sport-shift and towing modes (I tow a lot); toggle versus dial climate controls; non-dampened tailgate; limited tech on lower trims, etc.

Finally, the Ridgeline has had some major recalls and the fit and finish of Honda simply is not what it was 20 years ago. The mere fact that the Ridgeline has a bed is not enough to make it sell. Most would be better off (and ultimately choose) a Pilot.

Not sure what Ridgeline is getting but I get ~22 in mixed driving with a stock OR DC. Easily hitting 24 MPG on road trips. I drive rather conservatively though.

You bring up some good points. I think it looks more like a Pilot with an bed than an accord though. The rear door access does suck, but can be remedied with a simple install of new door chucks (whatever they are called). I don't care because I don't use the rear doors really. I actually love the adjustable arm rest. Correct on the sport shifting, but if you like sporty, the Ridge smokes the Taco in sporty driving. I use auto climate so couldn't care less if it's a toggle or a dial. I set it and forget it. I've towed with both and the Ridgeline tows better with a 4,000# camper anyway. Yes, the tailgate is not dampened. Oh well, I really don't care. Plus, the ridge can open tow ways and has a trunk for my golf clubs. :)

I average 23.6 combined and I drive aggressively. I can average 25.5 if I baby it.

    OME and worth every penny.
If I HAD to buy a NEW truck today, that's what I'd get. Don't care for the looks nor the hi tech features of everything else. Bought a nwer mini van to replace my old Sienna and hate all the crap on the dash now. Back up camera? I still turn around to look.
