Heading out with my wife and son for Labor Day weekend to do some "Weekendlanding" and can't decide on where to go. We only have 3 days so we cannot do both. Anyone have any experiance camping and checking out trails at either forest? Any advise on where to go?

We are heading out Saturday morning early and returning Monday evening.

Bald Eagle is 10 times better than the ANF IMHO. The ANF is an oil field, Bald Eagle has beautiful mountains, talus slopes, and babbling brooks without oil pipes running along them.
ANF has little to offer in offroad trails, all the roads open to traffic are dirt but in better shape than and as wide as interstate highways. The tree huggers have pretty much ended recreation on the ANF outside of hiking which is ironic given the endless grids of roads to stripper wells.
