My family has outgrown our small roof top (48”x48”) tent that’s mounted to an HEO T3 trailer. In an ideal world I would sale the whole setup, but I can’t afford it and don’t really want a larger trailer.

With that said, I've been looking at the CVT Standard 47" Mt. Mazama trailer tent for but wanted some advice on the setup. The tub of the trailer, it's 48" x 60" with a mounting surface of 44” x 53”. The overall width of the trailer front fender to fender is 68" and 102" long from the bumper to the hitch with 30X10.50/r15 wheels and tires so a little guy.
I wanted to get some thoughts on the mounting setup. It would be mounted directly to the top of the trailer, it's 46" high so that shouldn’t be an issue for a 47” tent. The GVWR is 1500lbs so the weight shouldn’t' be an issue. the empty trailer weight is 500lbs and Mt. Mazama tent is 350lbs, so pretty damn heavy.

When it comes down to it based on a few measurements the actual mounting surface (where I would drill and bolt) is 53" x 44” and the tent is 86”x 67”. I should have about 11.5" of overhang on each side and about 16.5" of overhang on the front and back if I center it, more than likely I'll move it to the front a few inches. That should put it at about 14" of overhang in the rear and 19" up front from the actual mounting surface.

A few questions: Do you think I would have any issues with the amount of overhang? The current tent on there is super solid if the Mt. Mazama is the same thickness / built quality I don't think there will be an issue with bending etc. Next, Do you think this setup will tow well, no wondering all over the road, ect…

Here is a photo of the trailer.

Did you ever pull the trigger on this?
Currently looking at the same kind of setup but worried about the overhang. It's a huge tent (and heavy!) but the space in the tent would be the cats ass. Just wondering if you had done it and had any experience to share
