2015 tacoma BLUETOOTH issue

It feels like my bluetooth is just flat broken but i figured id consult community for any ideas. My bluetooth will not connect to any devices (i have had Galaxy S7 paired for years, then as soon as i get an S8 it stops working after one use - where it did actually pair).

In audio app i click bluetooth and nothing shows up. And where there is usually a button in bottom left to "select device" is now absent.

I try going to my home page of apps where it displays general bluetooth and there it allows me to "select device" but then a text box pops up "waiting for bluetooth" and that never goes away.

I can select bluetooth in audio app, but in settings the bluetooth icon is halftone or whatever you call unable to click.

*i have tried the soft reset (holding power button)

 

What is this power button? Do you mean on the phone or the truck?

 

I just experienced the exact same problem, except I went from S7 to S9 phone.
I tried a fix from another post to access diagnostic menus (hold down Apps button, switch headlights on/off 3 times) but that didn't correct the bluetooth.

Did the new Samsung phone kill the trucks Bluetooth?
Hopefully someone else has found a solution.

 

I tried the process again, but held the INT 'button' and then answered yes to personalize, and it worked. I lost all my radio presets, bu bluetooth connects to phone now.
