Did ceramic coating the other day. Came out great!

I am looking into getting my super old tacoma ceramic coated, it needs it!
this week I had the white letters turned out during the tire rotation at DT for a different look, I have never had the white letters out before on this truck in 22+ years
my nephew told me to do it because he thought it would look badass with the side decals and chrome, so i gave into peer pressure
now I will have to continually apply the Black Magic tire wet product on them

 

i need to outfit my truck with something like that
is it a special order item?

I did it myself. I used product called SILVERWAX. Took me about 4 hours. My paint is about a year old, so i didnt have to spend lots of time doing paint correction.

I clay barred and used the paint prep liquid that came with the ceramic coating. All of my vehicles were black so ive always been doing my own detailing. I got tired of waxing every month haha!

Result is great, no swirl marks. The paint looks like glass in full sun, easier to clean also.

If you are thinking about doing it to your old truck i would def recommend spending a lot of time correcting paint, polishing compound/claybar. Just make sure you dont miss any spots, otherwise it dries like that permanently. Only way to remove screwed up ceramic coating is with polishing compound. Other then that, that stuff is great!

New Member here. Picked her up last week after my last truck blew at 246,000 after having it 13 years. Love this little truck. No big mods gonna happen really soon. Get the front windows tinted next week. Seat covers should be delivered soon. I will use this truck for a daily driver and a hunting truck to run my dogs with. Plan on new tires and wheels but I'm a tight ass and will not get them before I use the OEM tires and wheels that came with the truck. Not sure if I want to lift or not. Really like the looks and could use some extra clearance but I'm not looking to kill the fuel mileage. Definitely getting a light bar. Been looking at this truck and reading posts on this forum for almost a year. Enjoying reading the information that you guys have posted.
