I had an 09 EX7 and it was a good bike. I picked up a new Pivot Switchblade last October and I can not believe the difference, smooth clean precise! Still in aww every time I ride it. Ill post pics soon.

SRAM Eagle for drivetrain, Shimano for brakes.

Whatever you do, don't try AXS. You will buy it.

Funny you say that. For a long time I have not had a preference between the two but recently running 12 speed SRAM and I hate it. I cannot keep it indexed correctly and continue to have ghost shifting issues

My exact reasoning as to why I prefer Shimano vs sram.

It’ll be interesting to see if Shimano worked out any of the bugs with their 12speed. I keep thinking I’ll move to that drive next season, but in reality I never use my granny gear in the terrain I ride most often.

Same. I think Sram released their 12 speed too soon. It's simply not good enough

I have not ridden any of the 12 speed set ups by sram. My bike has the 11 speed NX set up and honestly I can’t see myself needing much more range...

Tbh I don’t ride shimano or sram brakes on my mtb. I also don't use disc brakes on my road bike because I like as light of a bike as possible. So their disc brakes may be better, but just based on drivetrain I prefer SRAM.

Shifting? I don't really have a preference. Both companies are pretty decent throughout their lineups.

For brakes, on the other hand, I'm 100% Shimano without a second thought. There is no substitute.

What brand do you use on your mtb? I’m def shimano all the way on the mountain bike.

It's preference. All the top-tier stuff is great now.

Funny how many people prefer the Shimano brakes. I can't stand them, that wandering bite point is pure shit. Not knowing where your brakes will bite from one moment to the next is no-bueno.
Their power is awesome, but I simply will not ride a brake that's unpredictable.
SRAM brakes got a bad wrap because of the Guides. Those seals were shit. Now it's all sorted, and the G2 and Codes are awesome brakes (prefer the power of Codes). Better modulation, more predictable, better bleed life, less fade, easier bleed system.

I had so many indexing issues with my SRAM Eagle until I was told by a tech to set up B-tension under sag. Let air out of your shock, set the bike at your preferred sag, use the little red disk to set it up. No more indexing issues.

Hey guys, I have a question about racks. I've been wanting to put a rack on my helicoptor, but am unsure of which one to go with. I need one that can carry at least 4 bikes, and clears the doors on both sides, without getting in the way of the access panels on either side. I don't want to have take the wheel off, but it needs to be secure. Any suggestions?

We have a heli-biking operation here in UT that just started up. May have to go give them a call sometime soon.
