    None right now
Hello all thank you for this Forum. I have a 2009 Tacoma TRD Prerunner that is all stock. I love it but it became my sons and I am now looking for another Tacoma. I have not really modified any of my vehicles in the past but he would like to the following and I have no idea where to start what to do. We have to replace the shocks and thought we might as well get the truck to what he wants. We have average mechanical skills working on motorcycles, quads and I work on our airplane.

    1. He would like to put a small lift on but I do not like the idea of just doing blocks. What is the smallest lift kit? (do we do __" front __" back?) Do we buy a kit or purchase items separately?

    2. What size tires and rims will this support?

    3. Another option is doing just tires and rims but he would like to just fill up the wheel well more. What size do we go with to accomplish this with out causing and rubbing problems?

Details and picture would be appreciated Thank you for you help and advice as we have never done a lift before.

Welcome from Texas. Happy to help where we can.
If you don't want blocks, a kit might be the way to go. We have many and are still adding more daily.
Toytec and OME are a solid option.
Not sure your budget. We have a small OME we're building out today that's about $951+
    or
These w/add-a-leafs are always a sure bet: https://puretacoma.com/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=158

Best of luck! Sounds like a great father-son project.

    call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road

Discuss suspension options with her. The answer depends on 'how much'. Both in lift wanted and budget.

Keep in mind that lift has little to do with tire clearance. That's more specific to the specs of the wheel used and the final tire choice.

You might also consider shopping for a 3rd Gen OR suspension take off, all 4 shocks and the front coils. Nice upgrade, low cost. And some 3rd gen wheels. They look good on 2nd gens, and fit nice.
