alignment issues

When I got my 07 it was out of alignment. No biggie. I took it back for a quick fix. When I got it back it was still pulling to the left and still pulling pretty hard. Take it back on monday the work is done but still tends to want to go left more than right. If I center the wheel the truck definitly wants to go left.
The mechanic told me he moved the wheels to .6degrees+ camber and what amounts to about 1/2 + Caster.

How do these numbers sound to you guys?
Is this common for a Tacoma?

By the way, the diff lock started working on saturday. I did nothing different on saturday than friday but it finally came around.

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune with your Taco! rare for a taco!
I haven't noticed any alignment issues with my 07!

 

I suggest you take it to an independent alignment specialist and have it checked. They don’t have to BS you hence you’ll get the straight goods. I had a similar problem once and it could never be corrected no matter what they tried. I had to buy new tires every year as a result uneven outer wear. It had problem with the frame/body or something. Since your truck is new, a written independent opinion from a pro can get you out of a jam now or NEVER.

 

This truck has 900 miles on it I am concerned that taking it to an independent will void the warranty. I still have 99k left on the warranty, now is not the time to cancel it out.

This truck is sharp, but I wouldn't recommend one to my friends. I have had a terrible experience with both my 07 Camry and 07 Tacoma and it is not even 07.

 

Wow. This is deep. Are your issues dealer related or product related? Getting the opinion of another alignment guy will not void your warranty. You need to determine if your dealer is not telling you about some uncorrectable frame/body deformity that may be affecting your alignment. The more miles you put on, the blame can shift to your disadvantage. Act without delay. Sorry to hear about your displeasure.

 

Take it to another dealer. Was your truck a demo model perhaps?

I had that same issue with my diva truck. i took it back 3 times till they finally got it right. the mechanic told me it was due to my custom tires.

 

I have an 07 Taco and experienced the same thing - only pulling to the right. I've had it back twice and it still pulls right slightly, plus vibration at 70 mph. Dealer sold it to me with third party tire/rims, both brand new and spiffy. However they can't seem to get the alignment straight and now tell me its an issue between me and the wheel dealer.

I'm not loving my truck to much either right now and its only been a month. Thinking GM should've gotten my $$$. I'm not impressed w/Toyota at all right now. Granted this is probably more of a dealer issue than Toyota but a well designed vehicle shouldn't get tripped up this easily.

 

The dealer has remedied this by doing what he calls road Force Alignment.
He said this is more than spin blancing actually mating the tires to the wheels for better harmony. Whatever it takes I guess. It works and Im happy.

 

taco im an Audi tech. they shouldnt be messing with caster. toe and camber have more to do with a pulling issue. if they have a road force balance machine then next time the do an alignment make sure to get a print out of it that should show you the before and after.

 

My truck pulls to left as well, I was going to wait till my first oil change to take it in but after hearing all this I will be calling my dealer later this week.

 

This whole thing makes me a little uneasy. I bought an 07 DC, Sport just 3 weeks ago. It too was out of line when I bought it. The dealer can't seem to get it right. Close, but no cigar! If my problem continues, I will take it to an independent that I know to be good. For now, however, my concern is with the warranty....like you.

 

I too had the same problem back to dealer twice not straight .got it lifed 3.1/5 inches lift guys alined it still not straight went back to their guy and he finally got it right i told him the wheel wasnt straight and that was most important to me after a day of tweeking its perfect so i would say independant shop with the proper complaint should do the trick and good luck.

I live in Spain and brought my 05 Taco DC with me. I've just replaced all four tyres and normally have the wheel alignment checked to ensure that the new tyres don't wear prematurely.
Does anyone have access to the the factory spec alignment figures. If this can be forwarded, it will enable me to pass on the info to my alignment specialists. Rgds.

 

I brought mine in for an alignment issue within 300 miles. I've had to bring it in 3 times and I'm gearing up for my fourth. They state that it is in alignment but it doesn't drive like it. Since it is not drastic, it is difficult to convince in a 5 min road test with a svc manager. I was hesitant to bring it to a non-toyota shop since I assumed that they would know the vehicle and the specs better. Are there risks taking it elsewhere?
