I am getting ready to lift my tacoma on some BFG 285/70/17s wrapping the TRD Pro 17" T4R rims with an OME 2" lift kit. I have read places that it will rub and that it won't. Can anyone verify if they will or won't rub? Thanks!

    Yes, it will rub.

You need to do the Pinch weld mod.

Google it and it will give you links to all the threads about it

When you put it on and drive it normally, you think you are fine. Take it out on a trail or let the suspension flex, you will rub

Play it safe and go with 275/70r17. Put a 1 or .75 inch spacers if you want it to look like 285s. That's what I'm gonna do.

With 285 you’ll need to do a cmc. There are rare instances where that isn’t the case but if you don’t you’ll rub in full turn or any compression
