I ran across this 4 day old video of a 3rd Gen, supposedly using 4WD for the first time. He appears to be on a relatively easy road. Listen for the popping noises....

Sounds bad, what is making these noises?

Do you know if it's coming from the front or the rear? Sounds like something in your suspension is shifting? May want to re-torque everything.

How you gonna ask us about someone else's truck, some random video you found? We would all be speculating.

Sounds like the T case... however as to why, there can be a number of reasons of wear or stretch in the chain/driving on hard road in 4x4 or probably more common amongst people who don’t read the owners manual, using 4L without putting it neutral, you can easily get that popping that sounds like that. Hard to tell from the audio of the video though.

That's exactly what I did and exactly what I want you to do....now that I've asked, start speculating.

    Only wrong answers?

It sounds like the hood latch is loose and the hood is flopping around.

I'm pretty sure that's the driveshaft snapping.

It’s throwing nuts from the u-bolts, his new spacers were to thick for them to torque down with enough thread.

    Is it Friday already?! :bananadead:

He's probably using crawl control, it's noisy. Glad my M/T doesn't have it.
