I was going through my shed this afternoon and found an oxygen sensor for my 01’ 3.4l and would like to give it to someone on here who may need it. I know it’s brand new and unused. So if anyone wants it just let me know .

    That's a cool offer -

I have read places it's recommended to replace that every 100,000 miles, and you may experience better gas mileage. Has anyone experienced that? Reason I ask, I have 220k on mine (in avatar) and haven't. I still get the same average mileage I did 16 years ago. The only down mileage I had was when the thermostat spring broke and stuck open, never allowing the engine to reach operating temp.

I'd like to not replace, but if there's a chance it would do my engine a favor (and the checkbook) I'd take you up on the offer.

According to what I found online this is for a 2001-2003 3.4l V6 2wd Tacoma

Weird that it leaves out the 2004 but maybe they changed it for that year

You're thinking AFR (air fuel ratio) sensor. If it's not functioning 100%, your mpg will take a hit. You can expect to pay about $100 for a Denso AFR for our trucks.

I actually don't think this will fit my 3rz upstream sensor.

I'm almost positive your rear sensor is this one:
    https://partsfactory.camelbacktoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-oxygen-sensor-8946509280

Your upstream (AFR sensor) would be this one:
    https://partsfactory.camelbacktoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-sensor-8946735050

As Dan mentioned, just plug your VIN in and check -
    https://partsfactory.camelbacktoyota.com/

once you enter your VIN, do a search for 'sensor'. There will be more than one so look at the description.

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
I've seen it depend on the vehicle and type as to the results. The most dramatic difference I found was on a 95 F150 that delivered a 2 MPG improvement when the original was replaced at 230,000 miles. That one only used a single sensor. For 20-year-old Nissans with over 150,000 miles, not so much of a mileage increase, but an improvement in pep for around-town driving when up and downstream were replaced. For a Honda V6 with 120,000 miles, I noticed a slight improvement in driving pep around-town. I replaced both up and down on the Tacoma at 227,000 miles along with a new engine and injectors. So I can't tell whether they made a difference. Though it does run like new. None were throwing codes when replaced. It was just proactive maintenance.
