I know, and agree with you. I like the pros and would be happy to own one. I was just pointing out something I only just realized myself after thinking about your post.

My OR has a mild lift on it, so my CV angles are worse than a stock Pro, but are still within reason.

 

Toyota thinks the snorkle makes the pro a "serious off roader" and makes it look like it means business. But it's about as fake as the hood skewp

 

It is the same design function that they put on the land cruiser 70s. Those OEM “snorkels” are also not waterproof and intended for dust. The Tacoma one suits the Tacoma, and the LC70 suits that model, and both are useless as snorkels unless waterproofed.

So essentially, you have no point, unless you also think it’s just decoration on an LC70?

Been wheeling for 35+ years and have never needed a snorkel for water crossing. If the water is high enough to get into the intake then it's high enough to get into the cab and infiltrate the electronics and that's just stupid. Even on the dirtiest dustiest treks I've never had issues due to dust getting past the filter. You can justify your snorkeled up Pro but like the hood skewp and the Pro badging its falls under the FLO (for looks only) parts list.

 

I am not the outdoor/ 4x4 guy so I really do not need a 4x4 that MSRP is kinda painful to look at.

I guess as soon as they have to pay interest ( normally after 90 Days don,t know if it is different with Toyota) on all them Pro,s the wheeling and dealing begins.

 

Its crazy the amount of effort people go through to hate on the TRD Pro. Its almost like they are jealous or something...

I used to live couple miles from there, it's owned by Roger Penske, along with the Lexus dealership, that place should have its own zipcode.

 

At least the US has a choice to order one without a desert intake.
In Canada they come standard, you can't order one without the Koteka (DON'T GOOGLE)

The Tacoma is highly stylized, and mostly fake plastic, so a highly stylized fake plastic snorkel suits it.

I don’t own a pro, so not justifying anything.

 

Pro tip..if you just mention Longo at any other dealership in the LA region, they will basically sell to you at invoice to keep you from going there.

Pro owner and proud. I have neither the time nor desire to own and create a fast and furious off road edition truck

 

It’s real on this entire site. It’s either some guy who bought whatever model of taco and decided he hates them or the guys who like any model of taco except the pros. They are going to be spitting venom and out for blood...

 

My AC LB MT criteria automatically took Ford, GMC, Chevy, and Taco Pro and Limited out of consideration.

 

At least you had some logic behind your decision. Nothing unreasonable there

 

Love my Pro
I’m too old to mod a truck or a car. OEM with factory warranty is a no brainer. I see lots of OR guys switching to Pro grills, don’t see Pro owners swapping in OR grills. It ain’t a pro if you buy an OR. Too many OR owners let the 10K scare em off cause they stretched their budget.
