It's a brake light, not turn indicator.....no fluid required.

    Yeah.
Wiring to a trailer harness makes it a blinker and a brake light. :anonymous:

That's why I said it's the blue wire. I had to get a wiring diagram and T into the right wire for mine.

'Thread's been dead for about a week so it's time for a post. Nothing much going on here, but I did finally finish my sound system. I installed a Kicker KEY180 amp to drive my Kicker CS' and Subaru tweeters. For an old man like me, it's more sound than I need. It's amazing how far technology has come; that little amp pushes a lot of power and sound. I decided to wrap my roof. I've put several scratches (chicks dig scars, right!?) on the roof from loading/unloading my Prinsu, primarily from the Prinsu load panels. Hopefully the wrap will add a bit of protection; it certainly won't hurt anything. Hopefully I can get that done early next week. 'Hope y'all are good!

Not much going on down here either. I spend a week and a half out of town for work. I dropped the WRX at the dealership in LR before I flew out because I had what I was guessing was a massive boost or exhaust leak. It turned out to be a boost leak from the coupler between the intercooler and throttle body. I also had them do the 48k mile oil change and rotation, since the car was there. Nothing to report on the truck. Still sitting waiting for me to get off my lazy ass to replace the clutch master cylinder and start on the laundry list of other mods.

Has the intercooler ever been off before? If not, that’s an odd failure for an FA.

    Yeah.
So many questions! I did the Subaru tweeter upgrade but I went with JBL GT7 speakers. Relatively happy, but volume isn't there to overcome the A/C when it is blowing hard. Just needs a little more oomph, and I've been looking at the KEY upgrade for quite a while (one of the Metra adapters is still sitting in my Walmart.com cart).

Where did you mount the KEY, and did you make your own harness using the Metra adapters? Did it calibrate well?

I've never taken it off. Maybe the dealership in Maryland took it off, but they just did oil changes and my TOB twice. The service writer that the LR dealership said he's never seen the IC to TB coupler fail like that on a stock FA. They said it was collapsing at high rpm, even under boost.

Ok, that makes more sense. The other dealer would have removed it when they serviced your release bearing. When they reinstalled it, they probably didn’t have it seated properly and it just got worse over time.

I mounted the amp behind my head unit (the amp is small), used Crutchfield's CK12 wiring kit, and the calibration was painless. To give you a general idea on sound, when I wanted to turn things up while listening to my Apple iTunes, I would have to crank my volume up to 30 or 32. Now, I can't go past 10 or my rear view and side mirrors rattle too much. The punch from the bass is what was really surprising. It is hitting as hard as my son's 4Runner, which runs a 10 inch Kicker sub. As all the reviews said, I was astonished at how much power such a small amp can produce. I haven't really tested it with my CD's or satellite radio yet, so can't speak to those settings just yet.

    Yeah.
Sweet, just pulled the trigger finally. The amp was on sale at Crutchfield, and now I don't have to see that Metra harness in my cart.

I assume you just tapped into your existing wires? I'm going to build a harness from 2 Toyota harnesses (current one is female, old style is male) and pigtail it.

Awesome. Yes, tapped into existing wires.
