Well the big reason I bought mine was I am to broken up to be horsing heavy stuff around the tasks it helps me with are many . A side by side would do me no good now if I could get dad to get one for the house in Maine I would be happy . Likely I will be the one buying it we have the Tractor , Plow truck and so on but getting around all the acreage and woods roads etc I really would rather a side by side. We have a Polaris 4 wheeler it is pretty beefy but it kills my shoulder yarding the thing around .

So make your life easier . Yeah the side by side is nice for moving loads and traveling but implements are few and not near as useful. All the crap you have loaded in the trailer to dump you would have been able to use a bucket or the front forks, the brush put a piranha blade on the bucket and lifting with chokers, straps chains etc you can't do with a side by side.

They all have their merit. But I think Kevin's decision is based mostly on cost and marital bliss.

I really don't have a personal reason for owning any, luckily I get paid to putter around on all of them (except the snowplow...we don't need those here).

@Kolunatic @ Martin64 can probably tell you way more on what you can do with a small tractor vs a utv I just do not think the UTV is worth as much as a tractor other then moving bulk goods and more people the UTV I believe comes out on the short end of the usefulness stick.

Just spent the last few minutes reading all the tractor vs sbs. Chuck mentioned about a rental shop near him. Maybe rent 1 of each too see how it fits you needs.
Just had a sbs drive by. Pointed it out to my wife, lookie lookie me want.
